Where to Find the Best Authentic Mexican Tacos and Salsas in Your Local Area

Zapata Mexican Taco Shop serves the finest tacos in town. With three locations around Colorado Springs, there's one in every part of the Springs. I visited their northern location at 12229 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs 80821. Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed and directed to the menu on the wall, with instructions to order at the counter when ready and to ask questions if needed. The extensive menu featured tacos, tortas, bowls, burritos, and plates. I began with their cheese dip and chips accompanied by a mango margarita. I ordered several tacos: carnitas, pastor, birria, and fish. They offer a salsa bar with five different salsas, all clearly labeled, ranging from a mild avocado to an extra spicy red salsa. I sat down, and my cheese dip and mango margarita with a Tajin rim were promptly served. The margarita was enjoyable and reasonably priced. The cheese dip, one of my favorites, contained jalapeños and was very flavorful. Shortly after, my tacos arrived, generously filled and delicious. My top choices were the pastor with pineapple and the fish tacos. Both were garnished with fresh ingredients and had an authentic flavor.
